In this interview, we speak to Axel Sack that creates work within the 4D department of Fine Art.

What is the title of your work?

"Reality as".

Summarise the work in 5 words

Conceptual exploration of politicized space.

Talk us through the process of creating your work

This performance is based around a piece of text that explores the greater role of private/public space through a combination of autobiography, Marxist theory, and poetry. My work usually starts as text. I feel it’s a lot more illumining and allows me to develop things clearer. This does not mean that it stays in that form though, I think it's really interesting to translate things back through different forms whist trying to maintain the same feeling.

How is the work "site-specific"?

It is directly in dialogue with the idea of the "park.

Talk us through your research for the piece

I'm a big fan of Jean Baudrillard, so a lot of ideas came from his writings.
